McAndrews, Held & Malloy Partner Promoted to Senior Member at IEEE

McAndrews, Held & Malloy partner Francisco Castro, Ph.D., was promoted to Senior Member at the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), the professional association dedicated to advancing technological innovation and excellence in all aspects of the electrical, electronic and computing fields. In order to be selected for this position, candidates must have at least 10 years of experience in a technology or science-related field and must be nominated and then approved by a committee. IEEE notes that, "fewer than eight percent of the IEEE's 400,000 members hold this prestigious grade of membership, which recognizes significant professional technical accomplishment."

Castro concentrates his practice on patent prosecution and counseling, advising clients in the fields of telecommunications, imaging, photonics, semiconductors and nanotechnology. Castro is the author or co-author of more than 30 technical and legal papers, and frequently writes on issues related to nanotechnology. Castro is also the named inventor on four U.S.-issued patents.
